NC Regional Councils Of Government

In 1968 the US-Congress mandated that State governments setup a system of multi-county regional planning districts, calling for closer cooperation between federal programs and state and local governments. The Councils aid, assist and improve the capabilities of local governments in various ways by providing technical assistance to their members. In North Carolina they administer state funds for community and economic development, serve as area agencies on aging and are affiliates of the NC State Data Center.
