The proposed redevelopment includes: a 3-story parking deck for 90 cars, replacing a single-story building with a three-story building, and adding a third and fourth story to two existing buildings. Retail/restaurant use is proposed for the ground level floor area, 19 residential units are planned for the second, third and fourth floors. Vehicular access is proposed from Roberson Street and pedestrian access from West Franklin Street and Roberson Street.

Wrecking crews began taking down the Spanish colonial Kenan Field House on Thursday for New construction of approximately 200,000 sqft involving a five-story structure. The new support center for athletes will add 2,980 seats to the stadium’s current 60,000-seat capacity, $70 million privately funded project that will close in the east end of Kenan Stadium providing the missing connectivity link.
